Cauliflower is an excellent source of nutrition. It has anti-cancer, detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and anti-infection properties. Many amazing recipes can be made from the cauliflower, and some of them can be prepared very fast! The vegetable offers an excellent wholesome, rich, experience and that too with a very low-calorie count (26 calories/100g).
1. Roasted recipe
You have several variations of the roasted recipe to try. The method is simple. Just separate the florets, dip them in a vinegar bath (for removing the pesticides), and roast them in your preferred oil.
You can also roast the whole vegetable and keep it as a centerpiece on the meal table. Everyone in the family can take out as much as they need.
Extra virgin olive oil is a good oil. Chefs add different spices to taste. These include cumin, parsley, sumac, pepper, and marjoram. Balsamic vinegar and lemon juice are also used for added taste. You can also add shredded parmesan cheese to the mix. Just preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and roast the mix until it gets desired brown color.
2. Crispy cauliflower (Spanish recipe)It is usually a starter dish in the Andalusian meal. You will need paprika (1 tsp), gram flour (2 tbsp), chopped parsley (1 tbsp), a little red wine vinegar (1 dessertspoon), and sunflower oil for deep frying. Start with breaking the cauliflower into florets and cooking them in salted boiling water until its tender. After draining the water, mix it with the flour, paprika, and add salt, pepper to taste. 3. Cauliflower with turmericCooking cauliflower with turmeric is an old Indian tradition, especially in the Bengal region. Both Bangladesh and West Bengal have fantastic turmeric cauliflower recipes.
Turmeric is a power booster of the immune system, and also has cancer-fighting properties. You will have to prepare a broth; it can be a chicken broth.
When the broth begins to steam, add the florets and the turmeric. Add the spices according to your preferences. You can also add a Mediterranean dressing to the mix. Just drizzle a little olive oil, add some lemon juice, garlic, sea salt, and pepper. Your meal is ready to serve! With 1 lb cauliflower, 1 tsp turmeric should be perfect.
4. Sauteed cauliflower with tomatoesFor 4 cups chopped florets, you will need chopped pancetta (2 tbsp), water (2 tbsp), halved tomatoes (1 cup), chopped fresh parsley (2 tbsp), minced garlic (1 tbsp), red wine vinegar (2 tsp), extra virgin olive oil (2 tbsp), and minced garlic (1 tbsp).
You will also need to add ¼ tsp salt and freshly ground pepper to the mix. First, cook the pancetta in a non-stick skillet until it browns. Transfer it to a paper towel to drain the oil. Then, add 1 tbsp olive oil, cauliflower florets, water, and vinegar to cook until it is golden brown. When the liquid has evaporated, add the rest ingredients with another tsp olive oil. Stir it for 2 minutes and add the crispy pancetta before serving.
5. Cauliflower cakeIf you have about two hours to cook, try the amazing cauliflower cake. The ingredient list is also quite big, so you have to prepare in advance.
For a 2 lb trimmed cauliflower, the cook will need 6 eggs, ¼ cup all-purpose flour, baking powder ½ tsp, ¾ cup Garbanzo bean flour, and 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil.
Other ingredients to taste include ground coriander, onion, red pepper powder, salt, and crumbled feta cheese. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Steam the cauliflower to tenderize it and stir it with onion, garlic, pepper, and salt. Whisk the flour, baking powder, add the egg, and add the cauliflower mixture.
